Meeting 9 - Electing coordinators
1. Opening prayer or reflection
2. Minutes of last meeting
3. Review of happenings
What happened this week? It may be something that happened at work, or in the family. It may be a conversation or an article you read. Share about something that made you angry or happy or confused or depressed – something that really affected you.
• What caused this to happen?
• How did it affect the people involved?
• What are the good and bad things about this happening?
• What was your reaction/action?
• Was that a good reaction? A responsible reaction?
4. Election of the coordinating committee
Tonight, we will elect the coordinating committee. Three persons are to be elected: the president, secretary and treasurer. Apart from their duties in the weekly meeting this group will – from now onwards – meet every four to six weeks, together with the chaplain or adult assistant, for a Coordinator’s Meeting.
The election should take place by secret ballot. Perhaps the chaplain or adult assistant (who do not get a vote) could take a lead in these proceedings.
Responsibilities of the persons to be elected:
The President
• To chair the weekly meeting – especially the ROLWA section.
• To represent the group at regional and national levels.
• To develop friendship and commitment in the leaders’ group.
The Secretary
• To record minutes of ail meetings.
• To receive and reply to all correspondence of the group
• To keep a record of names and addresses of members and contacts.
The Treasurer
• To open a bank account for the group.
• To collect subscriptions and keep a record of all group finances.
